A Desktop adjuster is responsible for: - Reviewing Documentation: Examine policyholder statements, police reports, repair estimates, photographs, and third-party inspection reports to ensure all information is accurate and complete
- Determining Coverage: Interpret insurance policy terms, conditions, and exclusions to decide whether a claim is covered and the extent of the insurer’s financial responsibility
- Claim Resolution: Communicate with policyholders via phone, email, or video conferencing to explain coverage decisions, settle claims, and expedite payments
- Collaboration: Work with field adjusters who provide on-site inspection reports, contractors, and other stakeholders to finalize claims efficiently
- Administrative Tasks: Document all communications, update claim files, and maintain accurate records in claims management software such as Xactimate

Qualifications & Experience: University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance is nice to have. Minimum of 3 years’ experience. CIP designation or working towards designation. - Coordinate and communicate effectively with insureds, brokers, contractors, engineers, and legal counsel.
- Prepare accurate and thorough claim files, reports, estimates, and settlement documentation.
- Negotiate settlements professionally and within appropriate authority levels.
- Maintain compliance with internal standards, service commitments, and industry best practices.
- Identify subrogation opportunities and potential fraud indicators when applicable.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced adjusters, as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience handling commercial property claims.
- CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property policy coverage and claims practices.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple claims while meeting deadlines.
