Since joining BBCG on November 27, 2000, Luc-André Girard has put his talent to work for the firm, building not only an outstanding client portfolio but also earning the respect of the entire industry. Holding a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Université de Montréal, an adjuster since 1994, and the holder of the FPAA, CRM, and CFEI designations, he brings a background as rigorous as it is impressive. His steady commitment to his field has made him a go-to reference and has meaningfully contributed to BBCG's reputation.
“I still remember his early days in Montréal, after his transfer from Toronto in 2002,” recalls Michel Prud'homme, Managing Director. “Luc-André used to come into my office every day, complaining there wasn't enough volume, he always wanted more. But between his involvement in industry associations, the conferences he spoke at, and countless coffees with insurers, his growth took off fast. Within a few months, he had more volume than he could handle and not enough hours in the day to get through everything he wanted to.”
Diligent and organized, Luc-André worked literally seven days a week for several years. That work ethic, paired with an exceptional gift for synthesis and analysis, is something the whole team has always recognized in him and the feedback he's received over the years speaks louder than we ever could:
In a theft-of-funds case, one insurer wrote:
“Your availability, expertise, and support throughout the process were greatly appreciated. Your collaboration helped move the file forward efficiently and reassuringly.”
A broker, struck by his clarity and organization, remarked:
“You must be the best adjuster I've worked with. I can't believe how clear and organized you have made this for us.”
And a claimant, in a particularly difficult fraud case, may have summed it up best:
“His commitment and professionalism went well beyond the usual scope of his role. Thanks to his diligence and persistence, he acted as a mediator and managed to recover over $150,000 for us, a remarkable outcome that deserves recognition.”
Three voices, three different situations but the same takeaway: the excellence, rigor, and genuine care Luc-André brought to every file he touched.
Building on the excellence laid down by our firm's founders, Luc-André carried that tradition even further and BBCG will keep benefiting from the knowledge he generously passed on to the entire team.
Luc-André, on behalf of the whole BBCG team, thank you for everything you've done for us, for our clients, and for the reputation we proudly carry today. Congratulations on a well-earned retirement, we wish you every success in this next chapter, and we have no doubt you'll stay in touch with the many people whose careers you've helped shape along the way. Enjoy every moment: you've earned it!
